Inside Our Recent Quady Wine Club Holiday Party

There are more than a few perks to being a Quady Wine Club Member. Not only do you get to enjoy a 25% discount on all wines but you’re also treated and served by yours truly!

On December 4th, we had the pleasure of hosting Quady wine club members to a special three course dessert and wine pairing here at the winery. Andrew Quady, the King of Muscat himself, took our guests through each pairing with notes from our featured chefs at Love & Garlic. Winemaker Darin Peterson and Assistant Winemaker Cole Dennis were also in attendance sharing various insights into the winemaking processes for some of the Quady favorites and news from the recent fall crush season.

The party was an exceptional experience to witness the magic that happens when Quady wines are paired with fine desserts. A Holiday winter wonderland setting paired with the sounds of a live classical guitarist helped complete the picture. Seen below, the three courses featured a number of our well known muscat/moscato sweet wines including Elysium (Black Muscat), Electra (Orange Muscat & Muscat Canelli) and Essensia (Orange Muscat). The desserts were uniquely created to pair specifically with their matched wine.



First Course

Poached Pears served in Elysium Sauce paired with Elysium

Ripe and Poached Pears served with Elysium Syrup and Elysium fruit compote. Garnished with raspberries and served with biscotti for dipping into the sauce.

Quady’s Elysium is a fortified sweet wine consisting entirely of 100% Black Muscat grapes served moderately chilled. It has an aroma of roses accompanied by dark fruit, cherry and strawberry, and is balanced with fruit acidity to finish clean.



Second Course

Orange Mascarpone Napoleon paired with Electra

Orange Lace Cookie with Tiramisu Cream Center garnished with Electra Orange Compote.

Electra is a unique, light alcohol Moscato d’Asti style wine. Made from quality Orange Muscat and Muscat Canelli varietals, it’s served chilled and delivers soft bubbles which float over flavors of sweet citrus, peach and melon.



Third Course

Chocolate Orange Ancho Chili Cake paired with Essensia

Decadent chocolate cake served with Essensia Glaze and Essensia Chocolate Sauce.

Essensia is a fortified sweet wine made predominately from Orange Muscat. First bottled in 1980, it was the first of its kind in the US. After aging three months in French Oak barrels, Essensia expresses spicy orange-apricot-pear flavors and aromas, balanced with perfect fruit acidity to finish clean.
