7 Refreshing Wine Cocktails to Keep Cool this Summer

We get plenty of sunshine here in the Central Valley of California. The reliably warm summer weather here helps us grow the wonderful muscat varities we enjoy so much, and it also makes cool and refreshing treats all that much more enjoyable. If you’re looking to beat the heat this summer, here are 7 of our favorite refreshing wine cocktail recipes to try! Yum!

1. Sparkling Electra Moscato

The dry crisp flavors of a sparkling wine like prosecco play off of the sweet and bright flavors of Electra Moscato magically. Throw in some fresh seasonal fruit and you’ve got a simple cocktail that is bound the please anyone. No really, anyone!

Ingredients:

1 part Quady Electra Moscato
1 part Sparkling wine or prosecco
Fresh or frozen fruit

Preparation:

Gently pour equal parts Electra Moscato and sparkling wine into a champagne flute or wine glass. Drop in your preference of fresh fruit. Add ice if desired or use frozen fruit to help keep your wine cocktail cold. Serve! Feel free to try this recipe with our Red Electra Moscato or Electra Moscato Rosé too.

2. Quady Dessert Wine Hard Seltzers

Love hard seltzers? Well get fancy and mix your own using our Essensia Orange Muscat Dessert Wine or Elysium Black Muscat Dessert Wine. Light, refreshing and bubbly, these are the perfect simple wine cocktails to keep you cool under the sun.

Ingredients for Essensia Hard Seltzer:

2 parts Club soda or seltzer water
1 part Quady Essensia Orange Muscat Dessert Wine
Splash of lime juice
Garnish: Lime wedge or wheel

Ingredients for Elysium Hard Seltzer:

2 parts Club soda or seltzer water
1 part Quady Elysium Black Muscat Dessert Wine
Splash of lemon juice
Garnish: Lemon wedge or wheel

Preparation:

Build in a glass over crushed ice. Add Quady Dessert Wine, club soda or seltzer water and citrus juice. Stir. Add garnish. Use more or less of the Dessert Wine to get the amount of flavor you want!

3. Strawberry Lemonade Moscato

The only thing better than ice-cold lemonade in the heat of summer, is ice-cold lemonade mixed with Electra Moscato!

Ingredients:

4 oz. Quady Electra Moscato
2 oz. Fresh squeezed lemonade
4-8 Fresh strawberries
Garnish: Strawberry, mint leaf, and lemon peel or wedge/wheel

Preparation:

Muddle the strawberries in the bottom of a shaker tin. Add the fresh lemonade. Shake vigorously and strain into your glass. Or, simply add fresh cut strawberries to your glass with the lemonade. Add Quady Electra Moscato and stir. Garnish.

4. Electra Moscato Slushie

The only thing possibly better than Electra Moscato, is an Electra Moscato slushie! Since Electra Moscato is low alcohol, it naturally freezes into a slushie, so all you need to make this recipe is the wine. These moscato slushies are a guaranteed hit, and pair perfectly with the warm sun.

Ingredients:

1 Bottle of any Quady Electra Moscato

Preparation:

Pour Electra Moscato, Red Electra Moscato or Electra Moscato Rosé into a gallon freezer bag or another container of your choice. You’ll want a container which is easy to scoop the slushie out of.

Place the container with Electra inside into the freezer and stir every hour or so until it’s frozen into a slushie. Remove from the freezer, spoon or pour into a glass of your choice and enjoy! If you want the consistency to be soft like it is from a margarita or slushie machine, simply blend the frozen Electra in a blender before serving.

5. Electra Moscato Flower Pops

Theses delectable and refreshing pops please your taste buds with flavors of apricot, peach, and melon. Enjoy this flower moscato pops recipe throughout spring and summer!

Ingredients:

1 Bottle Quady Electra Moscato
5 oz. Simple syrup
5 oz. Lemon juice
2 White peaches (substitute fresh lychee juice if peaches are out of season)
3 dashes Peach bitters
3-4 Edible flowers

Preparation:

Puree the white peaches. Combine Electra Moscato, lemon juice, simple syrup, white peach puree (or lychee juice) and bitters together in a bowl. Stir. Divide evenly into 8 Popsicle molds. Place in freezer for 2-4 hours. Serve.

6. Red Electra Moscato Float

Rich, creamy, Red Electra-y. Red Electra Moscato becomes dessert in this super easy and seriously satisfying treat. That tangy burst of red berry – a signature Red Electra Moscato flavor – bursts through the vanilla ice cream, yum!

Ingredients:

3 to 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
Top with Quady Red Electra Moscato

Preparation:

Scoop vanilla ice cream into a glass. Top with Red Electra Moscato. Stir and enjoy through a straw.

7. Quady Dessert Wine Spritzers

A summer favorite and the perfect way to spread that bottle of Elysium or Essensia a little further. On ice, these are cool and refreshing drinks for your patio parties.

Ingredients for Essensia Spritzer:

1 part Quady Essensia Orange Muscat Dessert Wine
1 part Club soda or seltzer water
1 slice Fresh lime
Garnish: Lime wheel or wedge

Ingredients for Elysium Spritzer:

1 part Quady Elysium Black Muscat Dessert Wine
1 part Tonic water
1 slice Fresh lemon
Garnish: Lemon wheel or wedge

Preparation:

Fill a glass with ice. Add carbonated beverage followed with Dessert Wine. Squeeze in citrus. Stir, garnish and serve.
